Murmura

Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Murmura collects, why, and the choices you have. It applies to your use of the Murmura app and account.

Data we collect

Account identity (email or sign-in identifier), profile name and avatar, the scenes you save or publish, follows and likes, notification and marketing preferences, consent records, transactional email status, and basic technical data (device type, app version and crash/diagnostic reports) needed to operate and secure the service.

How we use it

To provide and secure the app, authenticate you, sync and back up your scenes, run community features, send transactional emails (such as account and security notices), prevent abuse and respond to support requests. Marketing emails are only sent if you consent in Notifications.

Sharing and processors

Public scenes and creator profile data are visible to other users when you publish a scene. We do not sell your personal data. We use providers (hosting, database, authentication, email delivery and crash diagnostics) that process data on our behalf under their own safeguards, and we may disclose data where required by law.

Analytics and choices

Optional analytics and research stay off unless you enable them. You can change your marketing and notification preferences at any time in settings.

Retention

We keep account data while your account is active. When you delete your account, app records linked to the account and the authentication user are deleted; backups and legally required records may persist for a limited period under our providers' retention schedules before being purged.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your data, and to withdraw consent. You can delete your account from the Delete section in settings, or contact us to exercise these rights.

Children

Murmura is not directed to children below the age required by your local law to consent to online services, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has provided data, contact us so we can remove it.

Contact and changes

Website and beta waiting list

When you join the beta on murmura.app, your email, your phone type (Android or iPhone) and the page language are sent by email to Murmura's support inbox, through our email delivery provider. They are used only to invite you to the beta: they are not stored in any database and are deleted once your invitation is sent. To prevent abuse, the number of sign-ups per connection is limited; that counter clears itself. The site sets no analytics cookie: a single cookie remembers your language, only if you choose it yourself.

To learn which parts of the site are useful, murmura.app counts visits anonymously: which sections are shown, whether the sound is turned on, whether a scene is played or the sign-up form opened. A visit is recognised only by a random number drawn when the page opens and forgotten when it closes: no cookie, nothing stored on your device, no name or email. These counts pass through Murmura's server, which removes your IP address before handing them to our audience measurement provider, PostHog. If your browser asks websites not to track you (Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control), nothing is counted.
